Volunteering at TALMAR

TALMAR offers a supported volunteer program for our volunteers with disabilities, including in FALS (functional academic and learning support) programs at Parkville, Perry Hall, and Towson High schools, and middle and high school students at Ridge Ruxton. Adults with disabilities looking to support TALMAR’s programs through volunteering are always welcome and also supported. People without disabilities are also always welcome! We enjoy having volunteers from all walks of life help around the farm.

Our volunteer coordinator also works with public and private schools in Baltimore County and Baltimore City to arrange volunteer opportunities for students, as well as corporate volunteer days.

Individual volunteers interested in weeding, watering, seeding, trellising and all things farming are always welcome! Volunteer 1:1 support aids, board members, and bookkeepers also welcome. Please contact volunteering@talmar.org for additional information regarding training for 1:1 support aids, board members, and bookkeeping.

Register as a volunteer here. Reach out to volunteering@talmar.org for additional information or inquiries.

Clients Testimonials

Honestly, I think this program saved my life. In 2023, I was in a deep depress. It seemed like all that could go wrong in my life, did....It was so nice to feel like I was in my own body again. It was so nice to be outside and appreciate the beautiful nature around me. It was healing to feel like part of something. And I felt some accountability and like the plants depended on me. Seeing the chickens brought me joy. This was a really positive experience for me that got me out of a really dark time. I would recommend this to everyone. Even if someone is generally okay but just needed to get out of the house, or to feel like they have accomplished a meaningful task. Google reviewer Skylar
