Vocational Training

Our vocational training program provides groups of 15-20 students on a rotating basis with a specific farm experience of their choice including: seeding, transplanting, harvesting, sorting, packaging, landscaping, and watering. These experiences allow students to expand on their classroom learning and provide an opportunity to apply their social and behavioral skills in a new setting.

Both of these programs give students a range of opportunities to experience a working farm from an employee, consumer, and community perspective while giving students an authentic, inclusive, and diverse work and community experience. These students might become an integral part of fulfilling requests of TALMAR’s wholesale customers: Wegmen’s, Whole Foods, Woodbury Kitchen, Attwaters, and a host of local restaurants and local florists giving students an authentic, inclusive, and diverse work and community experience.
